The Fatherhood of the Holy Spirit

Introduction: Believing the Word over Tradition For us, it is not acceptable to teach that the Holy Spirit is not a Father. It is very simple to show the Fatherhood of the Holy Spirit in the Holy Scriptures. However, it is much harder for us to believe this, because of our broken and weak human nature. But believing this is possible and very necessary. Let us make a decision today to believe exactly what the Bible teaches, no matter what human tradition or our own feelings tell us. Before we look into the Bible, we must understand one important truth. When we say the Holy Spirit is a Father, we do not mean that He is the same Person as God the Father. In the Trinity, the Holy Spirit and the Father are distinct Persons. However, the Holy Spirit is a Father by His very nature, by His supreme authority, and by His divine being.
