The third Elijah

An adjunct to biblical teaching about the third Elijah

Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” And he said to them, “Elijah is indeed coming first, and will restore all things. How then does it say in the Scriptures that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be treated with contempt? Mark 9:11-12

The man prophesied by Christ is still not widely known. In that sense, Elijah has not yet come. We know this because not everything has been restored yet. We cannot apply this prophecy to anyone who has not restored everything as the original prophet Elijah did in Israel. Then it was clear who was with the Lord and who was not.

What kind of man is this Elijah? Our purely human assumption would be that he must be a person of exceptional qualities of faithfulness.

Jesus revealed a different reality here. It is true, He says, Elijah will indeed perform a great work of final reformation before His second coming. However, Christ will suffer much from this man and for a certain time even be despised. So Christ will suffer and be despised not from unbelievers or sinners, but here it is written that even though he will be Elijah, a holy man of God, until he truly becomes so, he will do things that will greatly afflict Christ. Elijah will have great love because much has been forgiven him. Much will be forgiven him because he will commit a great transgression.

Can we bear these words?

These words also agree with these:

And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication, so that they will look on me whom they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only son, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn. Zechariah 12:10

Since Elijah is the greatest among the people of God in the last times, as prophesied by Zechariah, then it is certain that this refers to him, that is, that he pierced Jesus. Both he and those with him.

Where is your arrogance and pride now, you who call yourself a believer? For if the best among us is like a thorn, piercing Jesus’ forehead, how godless and fallen away from God are you?

According to the Holy Scriptures, there has never been a generation that has shamed God and done more evil than our generation of believers to which we belong.

Also, never before has God been more ready to receive and forgive and use a group of people. Yes, there is a great awakening, but first there must be a great lamentation.

In that day there will be a great lamentation in Jerusalem, like the lamentation of Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. And the land will mourn, every family apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of the Shimeites apart, and their wives apart; all the remaining families, every family apart, and their wives apart.

Key time of the Advent movement (part three)

That God's work on Earth can never be lost was clear to a prisoner after many sufferings he endured during his imprisonment. The day came when he was to be burned at the stake, and just before that, in his cell, he wrote the following words: "Today you will burn a goose, but after a hundred years, you will hear the song of a swan; you will not be able to burn him. You will have to listen to him." Martin Luther recognized himself as the fulfillment of this prophecy: "Jan Hus prophesied for me when he wrote from his cell, 'Now you will roast the goose (for Hus means goose in Czech), but after a hundred years, you will hear the swan sing. You will have to endure him.' And so it will go on, if it pleases God." In the same land that heard the words of these two witnesses of God, where tin swans adorn the tops of many church towers, another, an Australian, stated in the presence of his colleagues: "There should be a total of three calls to Adv...

The key time of Seventh-day Adventism Part 1

The depiction of the history of Seventh-day Adventists as God sees it, through a biblical picture. For a believer, there is only one sure way to know how God sees him, and that is to humbly turn to Him in prayer seeking an answer. It is in God's power to respond to such a prayer sooner or later. It is also up to Him to choose the manner in which He will do so. One thing is certain: regardless of when and how God speaks, the proof that it is true lies in the answer itself. On the morning of December 8, 2012, I experienced enlightenment from the Holy Spirit, which gave me answers to some questions that remained unanswered for many years. These days, the same Spirit compels me to publicly announce this, as it concerns not only me but also all those who have faith in the message of the three angels from Revelation chapter 14. This knowledge also pertains to the spiritually-minded representatives of other religious communities, as well as other people who are not believers by outward ...

Key time of Advent Movement Second part

For justice of faith is written: Because it is worth more than a pearl. Her husband's heart relies on her, and there will be no lack of gain. Do him good, not evil, all his life. He seeks wool and linen, and works as he pleases with his hands. She is like a merchant ship, bringing her food from far away. He opens his hand to the poor, and stretches out his hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her family, because all her family have two dresses each. Her husband is known at the door when he sits with the elders of the earth. Virtue and beauty are her clothes, and she smiles at the passing time. She opens her mouth wisely and on her tongue is gentle knowledge. He watches over the rule of his flock, and does not eat bread in laziness. Her sons rise up and bless her; her husband also praises her. Give her from the fruit of her hands! In Revelation is described as Woman clothed in sun, and moon under feet her, and on head her wreath of twelve stars. At this are traitors r...
